Afrobeat star Davido received a warning from Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a visit to Abuja on Monday.

Akpabio advised Davido to stay away from politics and continue excelling in the entertainment industry.
The Senate President thanked Davido for his contributions to the nation and expressed his joy at meeting the musician. He highlighted the inclusive nature of the current administration, emphasizing unity beyond party lines.
Akpabio praised Nigeria’s large population and urged Davido to keep being a positive ambassador for the country.

He assured Davido that the government values talents and will support the entertainment industry. He encouraged patience and prayers for the country’s success.
Davido responded by sharing his efforts to support society through his Foundation, which donates N300 to N400 million to orphanages annually.
He also mentioned his upcoming album, set to be released in June or July. Davido expressed gratitude for the government’s support.
During the visit, Davido was accompanied by his cousins, Folasade Adeleke and Tunji Adeleke, highlighting the strong family ties within the Adeleke family.
