Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, sends a message to the government of Ghana requesting that the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo makes him and other artistes ambassadors of the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Shatta Wale made this known on March 2, 2021 on his official Twitter page. Ghana became the first country outside India to receive COVID-19 vaccine doses shipped via the COVAX Facility. The president together with the First Lady and the vice president and the second lady took the vaccine live on television to reductase the citizens the need to be vaccinated.
Despite all the education and the news about the deadly virus, some Ghanaians see no benefit in taking the vaccine. Shatta Wale who is the chief executive officer of the Shatta Movement has suggested that the government make artistes with the greater fanbase in the country to lead by example.
He stressed that in so doing, their followers would be encouraged and motivated to be vaccinated. He mentioned Sarkodie who Is the head of Sarknatio, Stonebwoy of Bhination and Amg Medikal to lead their fans to be vaccinated.
I wish our government will let me and my colleagues like @AmgMedikal @sarkodie, @stonebwoyb @ set that leadership example to our fans as well in this COVID times..This one just noko fioo😂 ,we will also do it just for the love of motherGh..3y3 a munkai y3n wai🙏🏻 #1GH pic.twitter.com/80wPPr4s2y
