Reggae-dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has been detained by an Accra Circuit Court for a week before his trial.
It was speculated on Tuesday that, a few hours after celebrating his birthday, unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in East Lagon.
Many of his followers were in a state of fear, because earlier this year, Bishop Stephen Akwasi Prophesized on Accra Fm (100.5) that a Ghanaian dancehall artist would be shot and killed by gunmen on October 18, 2021.
The police picked up the story and began massive investigations into the disappearance of the Shatta Wale. After a few hours of their investigations, the police confirmed that Shatta Wale presented himself to be arrested.
Before going to the Police station, Shatta Wale posted on his Facebook handle that he disappeared deliberately. Shatta claimed he did that not to cause fear but rather to help the police bring a stop to “False Prophecies” by Ghanaian prophets.
Appearing in the Accra Circuit court today, Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty to the charge of publishing fake news.
