His career began as an assistant product manager, but in 1998, he co-founded Sansiri, a real estate company that earned him considerable wealth and prominence.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Sansiri thrived under his leadership. Srettha later decided to shift his focus from business to politics, selling his shares in Sansiri to pursue a new path.

Before the 2014 coup, Srettha had ties with Thai Prime Ministers from the Shinawatra family. In late 2022, he joined the Pheu Thai Party and soon became a leading candidate for the prime minister role.

His efforts were instrumental in forming a coalition government after the Move Forward Party’s attempt failed. Eventually, he was elected Prime Minister, leading a coalition that included parties connected to the 2014 coup.

As Prime Minister, Srettha’s administration has focused on several key areas. Domestically, his government aims to boost agricultural productivity, revitalize tourism, enhance infrastructure, and reform education.

Notable initiatives include a digital wallet scheme and advancements in the electric vehicle sector, with discussions involving figures like Elon Musk.
