Tonto Dikeh has responded to claims by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), denying appointing her as their Ambassador for Peacebuilding.

The actress took on Friday announced on her IG page her appointment at the commission’s Ambassador for Peace and accompanied it with some photos.

However, after Tonto’s announcement, some Christians and Christian bodies lambasted the commission for choosing Tonto for the position, which seems to have to lead the commission to deny the appointment.

The commission, in a statement released via Instagram page of the Secretary of the commission, rubbished Tonto’s announcement claiming, she was only at the office to pay a visit and to express her interest in partnering with the commission in the area of peacebuilding.

They tagged Tonto’s claims a “spurious, unfounded and should be discarded and seen by all Nigerians as a figment of her imagination.”

Tonto has taken to her page to react to the commission’s statement saying, there are videos to prove the appointment took place but if the commission claims they didn’t, she will respect their decision and take the fall.

Coming from a place of leadership and peace, I wouldn’t fight this but I will walk with my head held high and grow above this“, she wrote.
