Timothy Donald Locastro was born on July 14, 1992, in Syracuse, New York, the United States.  He is an American by nationality and belongs to a white ethnic background.

Tim Locastro played high school baseball at Auburn High School in Auburn, New York, and later played college baseball at Ithaca College.

Tim Locastro was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB draft. He later signed with them on June 13. Tim Locastro has previously played in MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Yankees.
