Former football running back for the New Orleans Saints Trey Edmunds was born to his parents, Ferrell Edmunds and Felecia Edmunds.

Edmund’s father, Ferrell, is a former NFL player who played as a football tight end for the Miami Dolphins as far back as 1988. He also played for the Seattle Hawks for one season.
Ferrell now serves as coach for the varsity football program at Dan River High School in Ringgold, Virginia.
Edmunds mother, Felecia, works as a physical education teacher at Danville Public Schools.

Edmunds entered the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent and has played for only two teams during his career – the New Orleans Saints and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Edmunds played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. He had a successful college career as a running back for the Hokies.
After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, Trey Edmunds signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. He spent the 2017 season with the Saints.
In 2018, Edmunds signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played primarily as a special teams player and occasionally as a running back.
He was released from the Steelers in 2022.
