A judge in Los Angeles ruled on Tuesday, January 17 2023, that porn star Ron Jeremy is mentally incompetent to stand trial on dozens of rape and sexual assault charges.
After reviewing reports from both prosecutors and Ron Jeremy’s defence, Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Harris stated in a hearing that he is in “incurable neurocognitive decline” from which he is unlikely to recover.
After a grand jury indicted him on 34 counts of sexual assault, including 12 counts of rape, Jeremy pleaded not guilty.

According to transcripts of grand jury testimony obtained by The Associated Press from the women and girls, Jeremy would lure them into a small secluded space, frequently the bathroom of a West Hollywood bar and grill he frequents, trap them, and sexually assault them.
Ron Jeremy, who has been imprisoned since his arrest in 2020, did not appear at the hearing.
Prosecutors requested that he be evaluated regularly. A hearing to place Jeremy in a state hospital will take place next month February 2023.
