Andrew Symonds was born on June 9, 1975, in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He was adopted by his parents: Barbara Symonds, and Ken Symonds. His family later relocated to Australia following his adoption.

Andrew Symonds’s parents worked as teachers. He had two non-adopted siblings including Louise Symonds who participated in Gladiators. He initially grew up in Charters Towers, northern Queensland.
Andrew Symonds attended All Souls St Gabriels School and then All Saints Anglican School in Merrimac when his family later moved to the Gold Coast. He was an important member of two World Cup-winning squads. He played as a right-handed, middle-order batsman.
Andrew Symonds announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 16 February 2012, Symonds in order to focus on his family life. He passed away on May 14, 2022, in Hervey Range, Granite Vale, Australia in a single-vehicle road accident at the age of 46.
