On May 14, 2022, there was a racist attack at a supermarket in Buffalo, following a shooting carried out by a white teenager.
The gunman, identified as Payton S. Gendron had allegedly shot 10 black people, killing them in the process and leaving at least 3 injured.
Authorities have described the incident as one of the worst racist attacks in recent American history.
Payton, 18, is from Conklin, a small town in New York’s rural Southern Tier.

Camera footage had shown him drive more than 200 miles to execute the attack.

One of the shoppers, Dominique Calhoun had parked her car in the parking lot with her two daughters when she witnessed the pandemonium and screaming of other shoppers within the premises.
“It’s hard… it’s really hard”, she lamented.
President Biden has assured citizens that the authorities will do everything within their power to end “hate-fueled domestic terrorism.”
“We don’t need anything else to state a clear moral truth: A racially motivated hate crime is abhorrent to the very fabric of this nation”, Biden said.
