Roffredo Gaetani was a former professional boxer.
Gaetani was born on March 4, 1953, in Rome, Italy.
Raised in the storied Palazzo Lovatelli, Gaetani moved to the United States in the ’80s.
His mother’s family, the Franchetti, were Venetians and Roffredo’s great-uncle, Baron Raimondo Nanuk Franchetti was Ernest Hemingway’s shooting companion on the estate of San Gaetano near Venice and inspired the character of Baron Alvaro in his classic Beyond the River and Among the Trees.
Following Gaetani’s arrival in New York in the early 1980s with only $200 in his pocket, he worked his way up from the docks, till he, with the help of Gianni Agnelli, eventually ran two Ferrari dealerships.
He subsequently served as an ambassador for the iconic Italian car-maker across the United States.

The famous Count Gaetani died in a car accident in Tuscany near his family home in Argiano on December 23, 2005.
Roffredo Gaetani was survived by two brothers, Luca Gaetani and Gioietta Gaetani.

Roffredo Gaetani was in a relationship with Ivana Trump.
Ivana Trump was a Czech-American businesswoman, media personality, fashion designer, author, and former model.
In the summer of 1997, Ivana began dating Italian aristocrat Count Roffredo Gaetani dell’Aquila d’Aragona Lovatelli.
Their relationship continued until Roffredo Gaetani died in 2005.
Ivana Trump passed away on July 14, 2022, at age 73 in New York.
