Nancy Jewel McDonie, known professionally as Nancy was born April 13, 2000, in Daegu, South Korea to a Korean mother and an American father of Irish ancestry.

Nancy was, however, brought up in Ohio, USA. She was raised alongside an older sister named Brenda Lee McDonie (born in 1998) who works as a cellist. Regarding her education, Nancy graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2018, where she studied in the Musical Department.
