Brazilian bodybuilder Christian Figueiredo was on the rise. The 29-year-old bodybuilder had obtained his pro card months earlier (“professional card”; a distinction that allows bodybuilders the ability to compete in the professional league, the IFBB).

The athlete with the nickname “Chris” competed in the Open division, which has no weight restrictions and attracts the bulkiest athletes, and would make his Professional League debut in 2024.

The formal announcement of Christian’s cause of death is pending. However, in an Instagram post, his buddies Fernando “Superman” and Ricardo Alexandre, aka “Rudeboy,” claimed that they learned of the athlete’s stroke and hemorrhage in the afternoon due to complications with the surgery he was having.

According to reports, Figueiredo passed away as a result of complications from liver surgery. Ricardo Alexandre Martins Correia, a buddy and fellow bodybuilder, told the media he was with him at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
