This serendipitous meeting introduced him to a woman named Zuri Alston, who would eventually become his loving wife, Zuri L. McDaniels.
The couple’s love story began with an amusing twist – Zuri, at the time of their first meeting, had no clue who Darryl McDaniels was.
As she revealed in an interview with PEOPLE, “I didn’t know who Run-DMC was when I met him – I honestly had no clue.” This fact seemed to captivate McDaniels, who found her unawareness of his fame to be a breath of fresh air in the world of celebrity.
