Grzegorz Braun siblings: Meet Monika Braun

Grzegorz Micha Braun is a far-right and pro-Russian Polish politician and the leader of the monarchist group Confederation of the Polish Crown.

Braun’s political career began in 2015 when he launched his campaign for President of Poland. He founded the “God Bless You!” campaign committee but received only a small fraction of the vote.

He is anti-American, anti-Ukrainian, anti-Protestant, anti-LGBT, antisemitic, and pro-Russian, identifying himself with Polish ultranationalism and conservative Catholicism.

On 12 December 2023, during the first session of the 10th term of Sejm, he extinguished a Hanukkah menorah with a fire extinguisher, declaring, “Those who participate in the Satanic cult should be ashamed.”

Grzegorz is a nephew of Juliusz Braun (former network director of Telewizja Polska) and a brother of actress Monika Braun.

He graduated from the University of Wrocław in 1987 and completed postgraduate studies at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia in Katowice in 1993.
