Mark Dodson, the actor who voiced many famous characters in sci-fi movies and video games, has passed away. He was 64 years old.

Dodson was in Evansville, Indiana for Horror Con when he had a big heart attack, according to what his daughter told TMZ. He was famous for his talent in creating different voices for characters. His first big role was as Salacious Crumb in the 1983 movie Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. Later, he voiced characters in Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Dodson also did the voices for many characters in the popular 1984 film Gremlins.

He once mentioned in an interview that he did almost all the voices in Gremlins except for Stripe and Gizmo. He said they improvised most of the lines because it’s hard to script what a gremlin would say. Dodson was happy that people still loved Gremlins after so many years. He also provided some sounds for the Zombies in the movie Day of the Dead, directed by George A. Romero. Dodson used his voice talents in Hollywood and the video game industry for about 40 years. Some of his credits include Star Trek Online and Heroes of Newerth.
