Reita, the bassist of the iconic visual kei band The Gazette, has passed away at the age of 42, as announced on the band’s official website.

The statement released on April 15 did not provide further details about Reita’s passing but expressed deep gratitude to fans and partners who supported him throughout his career.
A memorial service will be held with close relatives only.

Born on May 27, 1981, Reita, along with Ruki (vocals) and Uruha (lead guitar), founded The Gazette in Yokohama in 2002. Together with Aoi on rhythm guitar and Kai on drums, they embarked on a journey that would shape the visual kei genre.
The band’s debut album, Disorder, released in 2004, peaked at number 19 on the Oricon Charts. Since then, they have produced nine studio albums, all of which have reached the top 10.
Their performances have graced Japan’s major stadiums, including the prestigious Budokan and Tokyo Dome. In 2013, they concluded their first world tour, leaving an indelible mark on the global music scene.
