MUSIGA Renews Life Insurance Scheme, Encourages Members to Subscribe

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has extended its welfare policy with the State Insurance Company for the third consecutive year.

Union President Bessa Simons has urged members to enroll in the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme to take advantage of its benefits.

Bessa Simons made these remarks during a ceremony to sign the agreement for the scheme. He noted that this marks the third year of the Life Insurance scheme for MUSIGA members.

He highlighted that over the three-year period, numerous members across the country have benefited from the scheme, emphasizing this as the reason why members should subscribe.

“Accidents and emergencies are unannounced and they confront us when we least expect hence the need to be protected against such unfortunate occurrences,” Bessa Simons noted.

MUSIGA General Secretary, S.K. Agyemang, expressed his excitement at the contract signing. He emphasized that the scheme serves as a safeguard against unforeseen challenges and encouraged all musicians to enroll in the program.

Under the scheme, families of subscribed MUSIGA members who pass away will receive GHC 5,000.00, in addition to other benefits such as permanent disability support, child benefits, and parental benefits, among others.

Andrew Adu-Asante from SIC-Life’s Corporate Group Business department praised MUSIGA for launching this initiative, noting that it would greatly benefit its members.

SIC Life was represented by Andrew Adu Asante, Elliot Botchway, and Alfred Codjoe from the Corporate Group Business Department. Additionally, Mary-Joan Acheampomaa and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu from the Group Underwriting Department were present.
