He criticized the board for not being responsive to the demands to stop the sale of the hotels to Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.
Ablakwa, in an interview on the New Day show on TV3 on Wednesday, June 19, stated: “That whole board must be dissolved, how can labour ask you to stop the sale of the hotels and you are not stopping, SSNIT has been so unresponsive.”

Mr. Ablakwa suggested that the majority of the board members of SSNIT should represent organized labor.
According to him, this approach would mitigate political interference in SSNIT’s operations and ensure it functions in the best interests of workers.
“We have to change the SSNIT Law, the majority of the board members should be organized labour representatives, at least labour should appoint the chair,” he said.
