Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has dedicated his latest video “No Competition” to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

He emphasized that Otumfuo’s significance and contributions to national development, as well as his role in fostering social cohesion over the years, deserve commendation.
On May 12, 2024, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, celebrated his 25th anniversary since ascending to the throne as the Asantehene of Asanteman in a magnificent manner.
The ‘No Competition’ video showcases the vibrant Ghanaian culture by featuring scenes of the chieftaincy institution.
It also emphasizes the diversity of traditional attire, including kente cloth, intricate adinkra symbols, beautifully crafted African prints, beads, and other accessories.
There was a comedic antagonist portrayed by OB Amponsah in the video, who caused disruptions to the activities. However, once he was adorned in kente cloth, his behavior improved, and he stopped causing trouble.

According to Okyeame Kwame, this symbolizes how people behave improperly when they are disconnected from their cultural identity. He pointed out that this disconnect can influence one’s beliefs, behavior, and way of life significantly.

Okyeame Kwame further explained that when individuals discover their identity and core principles, they naturally align their behavior with their cultural heritage.
He added that being aware of the social norms, taboos, religions, languages, and dress codes of a specific culture helps individuals understand appropriate behavior and avoid missteps in various situations.
He urged parents to instill cultural identities in their children to guide their lifestyles.
The video also showcases the Hiplife legend’s talent for promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. It featured one of Ghana’s finest, Kuami Eugene, who also served as the producer of the song.
Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson, entertainment journalist Edem Mensah-Tsotorme, Nana Obokese Ampah I (Regent of Moree and Apagyahen of Asebu Traditional Area), and many others also appeared in the video.
