Liverpool have emerged victorious in the race to sign Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, edging out rivals Manchester United as well as Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

According to The Athletic, Real Sociedad expects the midfielder to accept a move to Anfield as they are in line to agree with Liverpool on a fee.
Liverpool will either activate Zubimendi’s €60 million release clause or attempt to negotiate a different deal with the Spanish club.

The release clause must be paid in full, making this a significant investment for the Reds. Zubimendi, known for his technical skills and composure on the ball, is seen as a key addition to Liverpool’s midfield.
Martin Zubimendi was instrumental in Spain’s trophy winning final against England in the Euro 2024 that took place in Germany. He replaced Rodri at half time and controlled the tempo of the game.
Zubimendi’s arrival would bolster the squad of Liverpool and provide the needed shield to the defense.
