Valastro’s hand became stuck and squeezed within the machine due to a pinsetter fault, which was previously a simple remedy, according to his spokesman.
Unable to withdraw his hand, he can see a 1 1/2 inch metal rod slowly and repeatedly impale his hand between his ring and middle fingers three times,” the spokesman added.

He only characterized his hand as being around “15 percent” strong at the time, and illustrated how difficult it was for him to design a cake, which the experienced baker had been doing at an elite level for years.
He’d only had three operations at the time he made those remarks. It’s uncertain if he’ll need more as he recovers.
