Tiger King: Jeff Johnson Cause Of Death

58-year old former reptile dealer and Netflix docuseries star Jeff Johnson was reported to have died by suicide in his home.

The Tiger King star shot himself during an argument with his wife, Entertainment Tonight confirmed.

The Oklahoma City Police Department reported on September 8, 2021, that Johnson’s wife told police an argument had erupted between them in their Oklahoma City home garage when he shot himself in the head with a Glock 45 right before her eyes.

Johnson’s wife phoned 911 to report the incident as an attempted suicide.

Johnson was said to be alive at the time paramedics intervened on the scene, reports state. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the University of Oklahoma Medical Centre.

Investigations reveal that Johnson’s wife was certain of no history of mental health issues prior to the incident. Notwithstanding, Johnson’s reason for shooting himself remains unknown.

Johnson made a brief appearance on season 1 in episode 4 of the Netflix series alongside the show’s star, Joe Exotic. He is the second member on the show to have died, apart from zookeeper Erik Cowie, who died from acute and chronic alcohol use.
