Katherine’s father, Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian naturalized American who is the most recent Republican governor of California. He is also a film actor, former bodybuilder, producer, businessman, and former politician.

Katherine’s mother, Maria Owings Shriver is an American journalist, author, member of the Kennedy family, former First Lady of California, and the founder of the nonprofit organization The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

Maria was born on November 6, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, the U.S. to Sargent Shriver and activist Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

Arnold and Maria got married on April 26, 1986, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, but Maria filed for divorce on July 1, 2011, citing “irreconcilable differences”,
