The American writer was born on December 5, 1934, to Frank Reese Didion (father), an army, and Eduene Didion (mother) in Sacramento, California, United States. She has a brother, James J.Didion. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
