Montgomery, 31, was charged with felony second-degree assault connected to 2019 conduct against Harmony and three misdemeanors related to interference with custody and endangering the welfare of a child, all pertaining to Harmony.
Small alleged she had no information about Harmony and that Montgomery never talked about her or any of his children from previous relationships, according to police.
Montgomery shares three other children with his estranged wife Kayla Montgomery, Harmony’s stepmother, who has been charged with welfare fraud related to Harmony’s case.
Harmony, 7, has not been seen since 2019, but was only reported missing by police on Dec. 31.
She was enrolled in school in Massachusetts in 2019 and spent her early life in foster care in the commonwealth.
Harmony’s birth mother, Massachusetts resident Crystal Sorey, lost custody of her in 2018. A Lawrence judge later awarded Adam Montgomery custody.
