Did Lin Manuel Miranda win an oscar?

Unfortunately for Manuel Miranda, 2022 was not destined to be his year as he did not win an Oscar. Instead, Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas O’Connell, took home the Oscar for Best Original Song.

Manuel was nominated in the Best Original Song category for “Dos Oruguitas,” which is featured in the Disney musical Encanto. But sadly, he won’t be at the ceremony because his wife recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The musical duo, Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas O’Connell earned their first-ever Oscars for their work on the song, No Time To Die, the theme music for the James Bond film of the same name.

In Billie Eilish’s acceptance speech, Eilish thanked Barbara Broccoli and the rest of the team behind the James Bond movie.
