According to reports, the Japanese Navy Air Service sent 353 planes to attack Pearl Harbor. Fighters, level and dive bombers, and torpedo bombers were among the aircraft used, and they were sent out to attack in two separate shifts.

Although the mission was led by aircraft, Pearl Harbor was not only attacked by aircraft. Heavy cruisers, battleships, and submarines were also present.

The attack cost the Japanese 29 aircraft and 5 midget submarines. One Japanese soldier was captured, and 129 Japanese soldiers were killed. Only one of the Japanese ships involved in the Pearl Harbor attack, the Ushio, survived until the end of the war.
