Jamal Edwards MBE was a British music entrepreneur, DJ and founder of the online urban music platform SB.TV.

Jamal Edwards was an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, a youth charity which helps young people set up their own businesses.
Jamal Edwards was the founder of SBTV – an online media platform to discover emerging artists which launched in 2006 and has helped to launch the careers of many artists including Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Stormzy and Emeli Sandé.
As of 2019, the SBTV YouTube channel had more than one million subscribers.
Jamal Edwards’ SBTV had its big break in 2011 when it was featured in a Google Chrome advert.

The ad caused the SBTV site to crash due to the traffic and it became the second-most popular UK YouTube video of the year.
As a result, this attracted the attention of the rapper, Dr Dre, who invited Jamal Edwards to film him on a tour of Asia.
How Did Jamal Edwards Die?
Sadly, Jamal Edwards died at his mother’s home in Acton, London, on 20 February 2022, at the age of 31.
Jamal Edwards’ company confirmed his death. His mother said he “passed away after a sudden illness”. The Prince’s Trust described him in a tweet as “an incredible innovator and entrepreneur.”
However, friends have said that the cause of death was a heart attack.
