Richard Osman is a renowned English television presenter, producer, novelist and comedian best known as the creator and co-presenter of the BBC One television quiz show Pointless.

Richard Thomas Osman was born on November 28, 1970, in Billericay, United Kingdom to parents David Osman and Brenda Osman. He was brought up in Cuckfield near Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
Richard Osman has an elder brother Mat Osman who is a musician and bass guitarist with the rock band Suede. He schooled at Warden Park School in Cuckfield. He then studied Politics and Sociology at Trinity College, Cambridge from 1989 to 1992.
Richard Osman started his career as executive producer on British game shows Deal or No Deal, Channel 4 comedy panel game 8 Out of 10 Cats as well as the satirical comedy 10 O’Clock Live. He has worked on the 2013 ITV gameshow Prize Island, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Total Wipeout, the game show 24 Hour Quiz, and Deal or No Deal.

Richard Osman worked as the creative director at TV company Endemol UK, script editor for BBC One’s Total Wipeout, as well as co-creator and writer of the animated Channel 4 sitcom Bromwell High. He was the presenter of the BBC Two quiz shows Two Tribes and Richard Osman’s House of Games.
As an author, Richard Osman has published the crime novels The Thursday Murder Club (2020) and The Man Who Died Twice (2021).
