Marivelle-Maria, affectionately known as Olaya was Wim Hof’s first wife.

Olaya and Wim Hoff had four kids together.

According to Wim, his wife Olaya, whom he met when he was just 22, was ‘the love of my life.

According to reports, Olaya was depressed in the early days of their marriage but he mistook it for mild depression.

Sadly, Wim Hoff’s wife Olaya passed away in 1995 through suicide.

Olaya had been diagnosed with schizophrenia by the time their four children came and she committed suicide by leaping from the eighth storey of a building in 1995.

On that sorrowful night in 1995, Olaya was staying with her parents in Spain when she took her own life, aged 35.

More heartbreaking is that Olaya took her own life just seconds after kissing and bidding her children farewell.

Wim Hoff met Olaya in a squat in Amsterdam in 1982, where he was enjoying a carefree, hippy-style existence.

After dating for a while, they married and started a family.

They gave birth to four children Enahm, Isa, Laura, and Michael born over the next six years which followed their marriage.

Wim Hof, known as The Iceman, is a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete known for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures.
