Dulce was last seen on September 16, 2019, at Bridgeton City Park. Her mother, Noema Alavez Perez, had driven her there after stopping at a neighbourhood convenience store for ice cream.

Dulce was seen inside the store not long before they headed to the park, according to the surveillance video. Alavez Perez told authorities she had let her daughter and 3-year-old son go to the playground while she stayed in the car with another younger relative.

After about 10 minutes, the mother reported her son returned to the car in tears because he couldn’t find Dulce. He pointed to the surrounding buildings where she had wandered.

Investigators suspect Dulce was taken into a red van with tinted windows at 4:20 p.m. by an unknown male. The individual has been characterised as having light skin, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, having a slim physique, no facial hair, and having pimples on his face. He was wearing orange sneakers, red jeans, and a black shirt, according to police.
