Mohamed Anwar Hadid is a Jordanian-American real estate developer.

Hadid is best known for building luxury hotels and mansions which are mainly situated in the Bel Air neighbourhood of Los Angeles and the plush city of Beverly Hills, California.

Hadid began his career by restoring and reselling classic cars in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Washington, D.C., before moving to Greece, where he opened a nightclub on an island, and with the profits, started developing real estate in the United States.

Hadid paid $150 million for the Ritz-Carlton hotels in Washington and New York and also converted a Houston hotel into a Ritz-Carlton Hotel and developed a Ritz-Carlton resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Hadid is also known in the business world for outmaneuvering Donald Trump, paying $42.9 million for several choice parcels in Aspen and announcing plans for a 292-room Ritz resort.

Hadid also developed Le Belvedere, a mansion in Bel Air, Los Angeles, that sold for $50 million in 2010.

In 2012, Hadid developed The Crescent Palace, a 48,000-square-foot home on an acre plot next door to the Beverly Hills Hotel, which he listed for sale at $58 million.

Hadid has in recent times being hit with a lot of financial troubles which has seen him suffer huge losses.

In March 2022, Demolition began on Hadid’s magnificent 30,000-square-foot home that angry Bel Air neighbors had dubbed the “Starship Enterprise.”

The demolition was the culmination of a five-year battle that local residents waged in the courts against Hadid for cramming the mega-mansion onto a 1.22-acre lot without many of the proper city approvals.

In 2019, Hadid told the judge that he was too broke to demolish the Strada Vecchia property on his own and that if he does so, he’ll be facing $60 million in losses.

The shell company that owns the property that Hadid had infamously said would “last forever” was forced to put it on the market for $8.5 million, but when it failed to sell at that price, it was auctioned off for $5 million last year.

Celebrity Net Worth lists Hadid’s net worth at $5 million, far below that of his famous daughters Bella ($25 million) and Gigi ($29 million).

However, Hadid’s former business associate told The Post that it’s “impossible” to estimate his actual net worth.

One thing is certain; Hadid has lost quite a lot of his wealth and is not as rich as he used to be.
