Ray Coyle is an Irish businessman and founder of Tayto Park.

Born in Meath, Ireland, Coyle started his career as a potatoes farmer in Curraha, Meath before establishing Largo Foods in 1982.

The Largo Foods snacks group included leading brands such as Tayto, King crisps and Hunky Dory.

Ray Coyle later opened the Tayto Park theme park and zoo in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

The park, which was officially opened in 2010, has had over five million visitors since its establishment.

Coyle first sold a stake in Largo Foods to German firm Intersnack in 2007 and subsequently sold his remaining stake in 2015.

He stepped down as chairman of the company in  2016. Largo Foods changed its name to Tayto Snacks in 2019.

Tayto Park announced in February that it will be renamed in early 2023, as the title sponsorship from the crisp company is set to end.

Ray Coyle died on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the age of 70.

Ray Coyle had an estimated net worth of over $50 million at the time of his death.
