Why did Britney Spears have a downfall?

Britney Jean Spears is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress from the United States. Spears has sold almost 150 million records worldwide, including over 70 million in the United States alone, making her one of the best-selling music artists in the world.

Britney’s decline began in 2007, following her divorce. Britney filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, with whom she had two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, in November 2006. Their divorce was finalised in July of 2007.

However, in the months that followed, Britney and Federline were embroiled in a custody battle. One incident in early January 2008, in which Britney, then 26, allegedly barricaded herself in a toilet with their children, prompted police to be summoned.

Britney was later hospitalised and subjected to mental health evaluations. Jamie petitioned for an emergency temporary conservatorship over his eldest daughter in February 2008 following back-to-back psychiatric detention, and LA Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz granted it.
