In 2011, Jared won his first two fights by knockout. The same year, he made his professional MMA debut in Alaska, and in five years, he made a record of 7–0.
In 2016, Jared defeated Asker by knockout by a combination of elbows and punches.
The win also earned Cannonier his first Performance of the Night bonus award.
In January 2022, he earned a Performance of the Night bonus award, following his bout with Derek Brinson at the UFC 270.
