According to a New York Times report on Trump’s niece’s book, President Donald Trump went to see a movie while his older brother, Fred Trump Jr., died of a heart attack caused by alcoholism in 1981.
According to The New York Times, no family members accompanied Fred Trump Jr., also known as Freddy, to the hospital the night he died at the age of 42.

Fred’s son, William Trump, was born with cerebral palsy in 1999, just after Fred’s funeral. Trump agreed to cover the child’s medical expenses. Donald Trump assisted in the writing of Fred Sr’s will.
It stipulated that Fred Jr.’s children, Fred III and Mary, would be excluded from their father’s share of Fred Sr inheritance’s with the remaining $20 million divided among Fred Sr’s other children.
