Vincent Edward Scully (Vin scully) was an American sportscaster best known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the franchise was located in Brooklyn) and ending in 2016.

Scully was born on November 29, 1927 and he died on August 2, 2022 aged 94.
Scully’s death was announced by Stan Kasten The President and CEO of the Dodgers in a statement;
“The Dodgers Vin Scully was one of the greatest voices in all of sports. He was a giant of a man, not only as a broadcaster, but as a humanitarian.”
“He loved people. He loved life. He loved baseball and the Dodgers. And he loved his family. His voice will always be heard and etched in all of our minds forever.”

Scully was born in the Bronx and grew up in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan to parents Vincent Aloysius and Bridget.
His father, Vincent Aloysius, was a silk salesman; his mother, Bridget, was a homemaker.

Sadly, when Scully was 4 years old, his biological father died of pneumonia when Scully was 4.
Folowing the death of his father, his mother married an English merchant sailor named Allan Reeve, whom Scully considered “my dad”.

Scully was married two times.
Firstly to Joan Crawford and they were married for nearly 15 years when she passed away in 1972 at the age of 35. According to reports, she passed away from an “accidental overdose of medicine”.
Two years after the death of Crawford, Scully married Sandra Hunt, who, at the time, was serving as the secretary for the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams.
Sandra sadly passed away at the age of 76 in January 2021 due to complications from ALS. Sandra and Scully were married for 47 years.

Scully and Joan shared three young children while he shared a daughter, named Catherine with his second wife Sandra Hunt.
