Kenneth “Ken” Boles, a Milton native who served Northwest Florida for 14 years as a state representative, has died. Boles died on August 9, 2022. However, his death was announced 6 days later, on Monday, August 15, 2022.

Boles represented state House District 5 from 1978 until 1982. During his tenure, the district encompassed Okaloosa County and parts of Escambia, Santa Rosa and Walton counties, according to a news release from the Florida House of Representatives.
Boles also served on several House committees, including as chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee.
Boles enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. He attained the rank of sergeant and was stationed in Germany.
After he left the army, Boles carved out a career in the real estate niche and was a licensed mortgage broker and a general contractor.
Boles served his community in many capacities and was active in the Masons and Shriners.
