The pair were supposed to return from the event in the same car on Saturday evening, but Mr Dugin reportedly decided at the last minute to travel separately from his daughter.
Ms Dugina died at the scene near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy, according to investigators.
They claimed that an explosive device planted beneath the car on the driver’s side detonated before the vehicle caught fire. Experts in forensics and explosives are investigating.
The Russian Foreign Ministry speculated that the attack could have been carried out by Ukraine. Ukraine strongly denied any involvement.
