Dascha Polanco had her breakthrough role in 2013 when she began playing Dayanara “Daya” Diaz, a Puerto Rican inmate, on the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black.

Polanco received an ALMA Award in 2014 and a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2015 for her work on Orange Is the New Black.

Dascha Polanco starred in HBO Max’s adaption of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In The Heights.” Her most recent projects, both of which were released in 2022, include the MGM film “Samaritan,” in which she co-starred with Sylvester Stallone, and the voice of Jessica Cruz / The Green Lantern in “DC’s League of Super Pets.”

She recently completed work on the Peacock anthology series, “Poker Face”, opposite Natasha Lyonne and created & directed by Rian Johnson.
