Manolo Sanlúcar was a Spanish flamenco composer and guitarist. He was considered one of the most important Spanish composers of recent times, and together with Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, and Vicente Amigo, one of the main figures in the evolution of the flamenco guitar.

Manolo Sanlucar, a guitarist, and composer who passed away on Saturday in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) devoted 70 of his 78 years to Salt Flemish, where he set the standard and defined an era alongside other avant-garde musicians like Paco de Lucia, Serranito, and Tomatito.

Juanma Suárez’s documentary “Manolo Sanlucar: The Legacy” was released in November 2019 due to the fame of his work. In conjunction with the Seville Film Festival, the Andalusian Studies Center awarded him the Imagine 2019 and nominated him for eight Goya 2020 awards. Sanlucar witnessed its debut with enthusiasm.
In August 2021, when he was 77 years old, he had a fainting fit at his Sanlcar home and was rushed to the hospital in Jerez (Cádiz) for a multi-organ failure just hours after his wife, Ana, had had treatment there for a stroke that had no long-term effects.
