Joe Haden is a former American football cornerback who played twelve seasons in the National Football League.

He was born on April 14, 1989, in Fort Washington, Maryland, United States.
Haden attended Friendly High School in Fort Washington, Maryland, where he played safety and quarterback for the Friendly Patriots high school football team.
Haden accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played for coach Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators football team from 2007 to 2009 and was recognized as a unanimous All-American, and was a member of a BCS National Championship team.
Coming out of Florida, Haden was projected to be a first-round pick by the majority of NFL draft experts and scouts.
He received an invitation to the NFL Combine and completed all of the required combine and positional drills.

He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on January 2, 2021, and activated on January 18.
On September 21, 2022, Haden announced his retirement and signed a one-day contract with the Cleveland Browns.
