Maurice Blinken and Ethel Horowitz are the parents of Donald Mayer Blinken, an American businessman, director and one of the founders of E. M. Warburg Pincus & Company, an investment bank in New York and diplomat.

Donald was born to his parents on November 11, 1925, in New York City.
Donald’s father and mother are of Jewish heritage. More so, his father was originally from Kyiv (now the capital of Ukraine).
Donald graduated Magna Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard in 1948 after serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and throughout his career, he blended leadership in investment banking, education, arts patronage and was a devoted public servant.

He co-founded the investment banking/venture capital firm of E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co. and continued to be associated with Warburg Pincus as a Managing Director until taking up government service.
Donald was appointed to the Board of the State University of New York in 1976 and was subsequently named Chairman of the Board of The University.
Donald was appointed a member of the Special Presidential Nomination Panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals by President Carter and served as Secretary-General of The World Federation of United Nations Associations from 2000 to 2004.
Donald passed away on Sept. 22, 2022 at age 96.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Vera and his son, Anthony Blinken.
