Patrick McEnroe is an American former professional tennis player, broadcaster, and former captain of the United States Davis Cup team.

Patrick McEnroe was born in Manhasset, New York to John Patrick McEnroe, Sr. And Katherine Tresham. His father passed away in 2017.
His father, the son of Irish immigrants, was stationed with the US Air Force base in Belgium. McEnroe’s Irish father was from Ballyjamesduff in County Cavan, and his mother was from Westmeath.
His father was transferred back to the United States, and the family relocated to the Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York.

McEnroe’s father worked as an advertising agent during the day and attended Fordham Law School at night after leaving the Air Force.
The family relocated to the Flushing neighborhood of New York City’s Queens borough in 1961, then to Douglaston in 1963.
McEnroe began playing tennis as a child and received instruction at the Port Washington Tennis Academy, where his brother John also competed.
He won one singles title and sixteen doubles titles, including the French Open in 1989. His career high rankings in singles were world No. 28 and world No. 3 in doubles.
