Listed at 6-foot-10, Lewis was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2nd round with the 32nd overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft.

At the time of his selection, he was the last player remaining in the “green room”, where fifteen of the top draft prospects sit until their selection. He and teammate Ray Allen made Seattle a contender during the early 2000s.

In 2001, Lewis was selected to play for the United States Basketball Team in the Goodwill Games, in which they won the gold medal.

After playing his first nine seasons for the Seattle SuperSonics, Lewis joined the Orlando Magic in July 2007, as he agreed to a six-year sign-and-trade deal worth $118 million.

He subsequently played in the NBA as a scorer for the Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, and Miami Heat.

Rashard Lewis played 16 seasons for 4 teams and averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 1,049 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games and won 1 NBA championship.
