Oliver Lynn was an American talent manager and country music figure, best known as the husband of Loretta Lynn.

Oliver Lynn died five days before his 70th birthday on August 22, 1996. Diabetes-related health issues and heart failure were blamed for his death. He was laid to rest on the Lynn estate in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Oliver Lynn was instrumental in developing his wife’s musical talent and country music career throughout their often-tumultuous 48-year marriage.

He purchased her first guitar, arranged her first radio appearances, and served as her de facto talent manager for many years.

Oliver Lynn was also the President of Loretta Lynn Enterprises, Inc., a company established in 1973 to handle Lynn’s business affairs.

He played a key role in many of his wife’s hits, including “Fist City,” “The Pill,” “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind),” and “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man).
