Cascio and his wife, Judy, operated Cascio Racing Stables. Over the past few decades, Bubba Cascio and his wife maintained a farm in Tolar and raced across the Southwest.
Bubba Cascio passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, morning at his Tolar, Texas, home, according to his wife, Judy Cascio. Bubba Cascio was 90 years old.
Cascio had been suffering from congestive heart failure and had been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities since breaking some of his ribs on June 4, according to Judy Cascio.

Bubba started his lifelong career in horse racing when he was 10 years old, hot-walking horses for racehorse trainer Will McKown.
He won the All-American Futurity twice, first with Three Oh’s in 1968 and again with Rocket Wrangler in 1970. He also worked with Dash For Cash, a Champion of Champions winner who was sired by Rocket Wrangler.
He was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2016 as “one of the most successful horse racing trainers for over 40 years.”
