Pathum Nissanka is a professional cricketer who competes for Sri Lanka in all the three game formats.

Nissanka, who was born in Galle, Sri Lanka, Nissanka played his first game for Sri Lanka in March 2021.

Before then, he had been selected for the Sri Lanka A team to play Ireland A in the first-class series in 2019. With 258 runs in two games, he was Sri Lanka A’s top run-scorer.

Nissanka was selected for both Sri Lanka’s squad for the men’s cricket competition at the 2019 South Asian Games and the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in the same year.

Nissanka was chosen to play for Sri Lanka in a limited-overs series against the West Indies in 2021.

Nissaka now holds the record for Sri Lanka’s top batsman in a T20I series versus Australia with 184 runs scored in the 5 games.

Nissanka made his first ODI century in 2022 against Australia, scoring 137 runs to reach the milestone.

Nissanka hit his eighth T20I half century against UAE in the opening round of the T20I World Cup in 2022. He scored 74 runs in 60 balls, surpassing Sri Lanka’s previous record.
