Paul McNaughton was an Irish rugby union, soccer, and GAA player in the 1970s and 1980s.
McNaughton represented Ireland 15 times between 1978 and 1981.

He made his international debut against Scotland at Lansdowne Road. He went on an Ireland tour of Australia in 1979. His international career was cut short when he moved to Chicago to work for IDA Ireland.

Paul McNaughton worked for the Irish Development Agency (IDA) for ten years, both in Dublin and in the United States, marketing Ireland as a location for multinational investment.

He was the Global Head of Deutsche Bank’s Fund Servicing business before becoming the Global Head of Deutsche Bank’s Offshore Funds business, which included hedge fund administration businesses primarily based in Dublin and the Cayman Islands.

Mr McNaughton left Deutsche Bank in August 2004 after overseeing the $1.5 billion sale of Deutsche’s Global Custody and Funds businesses to State Street Bank.

Paul McNaughton died at the age of 69, according to a statement issued by Leinster Rugby on November 7 2022.
